"Why the nickname Razkall? Because I consider myself as one. A rascal, that is. Why is it misspelled? Because like my work, I want people to recognize it because it stands out from the rest by being a bit more quirky, while still having a familiar feel to it."
Animation director Liz el Saadany (1989) graduated as Bachelor of Animation from the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Already during her studies Liz got recognized as one of Holland’s most promising animation talents, at the 2013 Netherlands Film Festival, and worked on the feature-length animated film Pim & Pom: The Big Adventure (2014). Her graduation film Follow Through (2014), about keeping the leadership and trust in oneself in sync, was nominated for the Dioraphte Award and shown at numerous film festivals.
Most recently, Liz directed her debut film Full Feather Jacket (2015), an action-packed animated short about a clumsy seagull that unwillingly joins the Air Force on a highly dangerous mission. The short premiered nationwide in Dutch Pathé cinemas as the supporting film of blockbuster movie Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.
Liz gets massive inspiration from the likes of Sylvain Chomet, Glen Keane, Jamie Hewlett, Egon Schiele, Betteo, Danny Antonucci, Darren Aronofsky, David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick.
